aydan
Just updated from 3.6.1.2 to 3.8 ant most of my settings are scewed up. Some channels are missing (Prosieben/Sat1 on new transponder, old ones i had deleted are back) although I didn't install then channellist, some key configs are missing and the skin setup is back to default. I did run the wizard after installing, which might be the problem but shoud not be. Also the service has been uninstalled. After all an update should not change any settings if you don't tell it to. Lars_MQ
Well if you choose the same place for the data as with the old version, it does use your settings. obviously you messed up while installing. Quote Link to comment
aydan
Well if you choose the same place for the data as with the old version, it does use your settings. obviously you messed up while installing. I installed in the same folder and as i said: only some settings were screwed up. Dunno why that happened. But what's to screw up while installing if all you have to do is follow the installer through? You might want to check what settings the installer or the wizard change. I also noticed my timers don't show up in the timer dialog although the timers.xml is still populated. Could it be that although deselecting the DVB-S channel list install it still got installed? That wouldn't be a problem since i backed up the whole DVBViewer folder, anticipating just this mess as it has happened to me whenever switching to a newer version. Aydan Quote Link to comment
Tjod
Where the config files are saved departs on the Installation mode and can be changed in the usermode.ini Program folder (usermode=0) -> Configuration files are saved in DVBViewer installation folder. For each user separate (Usermode=1) -> Configuration files are saved in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer. For all Users (usermode=2) -> Configuration files are saved in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer. Quote Link to comment
