balky
Hi, Is anyone able to tell if it is possible to watch blu-ray using DVBV. the discussions I found on blu-ray were only in German. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Tjod
No the DVBViewer is not able to play Blu-ray. Because of the encryption it will although not add in the near future. Some m2ts are Possible to play via DVBViewer: DVBSource: H.264, AC3 if you disable DVBSource (Options > DirectX > Use DVBSource for Mpeg Files) and have Haali Media Splitter installed it is possible to play m2ts contained H.264, VC-1, LPCM, AC3, DTS. There is although a tool DVBViewer Switch witch allows to start PowerDVD/WinDVD from the OSD Menu and go back if you ends watching Blu-ray. http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=25516 Quote Link to comment

balky
Tjod, I have finally downloaded and configured the DVBV switch app... The current issue is that when I insert a blu-ray disk, go on the OSD menu and select play blu-ray, the TV program continues and powerdvd tries to start up at the same time, and after a while the two programs run in parallel... The remote control continues to work with DVBV only, and I have to manually stop powerdvd. I am running on Win XP Pro SP2, and using powerdvd8. DVBV and PowerDVD both work very well as separate entities, but the switch seems not to be working as expected. Any suggestions? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

The Switch only stops the AV-Playback of DVBV. Then PowerDVD will be executed like C:\program files\cyberlink\powerdvd\powerdvd.exe DVD-Drive The DVD-Driver has to be defined in the DVBViewer_Switch.ini file. Then PowerDVD will start playback of the DVD-Disk. If you use a keyboard to control DVBV it is possible to use the Keyboard Hook option to stop the keyboard commands sent to DVBV and send them to PowerDVD. Keyboard hook is only working with the source keyboard! Take a look into the configuration folder of DVBV and search for the default.remote file. The commands have to look like this: <Command Name="Stop" Value="114" ID="93" System="-1"> <Event Source="Keyboard">SHIFT M</Event> </Command> Also start the DVBViewer_Switch with the parameter "-DEBUG". Then you can see infos about the Switch handling in the osderror.log file. balky
Thanks, I have followed the install guide to the last letter, and the issue remains exactly the same, whenever I insert a blu-ray disk, the switch comes on, but DVBViewer doesn't stop, so powerdvd and DVBViewer become active at the same time. The only thing I haven't done yet is to start the switch with the DEBUG parameter... How do you do that? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

Otherwise PowerDVD will startup when a Video-disk got insered. Then DVBV & PowerDVD will run at same time. This have nothing to do with the Switch. 2. Disk insered, DVBV running, then for testing you can use Windows Start->Run.. then enter: C:\Folder to the Plugin\DVBViewer_Switch.exe -debug Like: C:\Program Files\DVBViewer\Plugins\DVBViewer_Switch.exe -debug Then the Infos will be written to the osderror.log in the DVBV config folder. More infos about the debug Option can be found in the PDF-Description of the Plugin. Quote Link to comment
Simonlee
Hello I have a completely separate playback issue but cannot find any related topic nor anywhere in the manual. It may be just a simple question. I recorded an one hour program as 4 .ts files, cutting out all commercials in between and then added them up into a playlist. Playback the playlist was all ok EXCEPT the subtitle reset to none everytime the next .ts file was played and had to manually changed subtitle back to teletext 801 to view subtitle. Is there any way to default subtitle settings when making playlist? Please advise. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
