antdude
I upgraded my DVBViewer v3.5.0 to the latest version 3.9.10 last night. Today, I noticed one of my TV station (KTTV channel 11.1) over the air (OTA) does not play back audio from its recorded MPG files! Audio is fine with timeshift mode and from .ts files. I never had this problem with v3.5.0 before. Even more weird is that other stations don't seem to have this problem. It makes no sense. I viewed one of my MPG recordings with SUPER program and it showed: SUPER © - Multimedia Analysis Box (by http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net ) Analyzing the source file 12-18_21-12-12_11.1 KTTV DT (AC3)_House.mpg General #0 Count : 177 Count of stream of this kind : 1 Kind of stream : General StreamKindID : 0 Count of video streams : 1 Count of audio streams : 0 Count of text streams : 0 Count of chapter streams : 0 Codecs Video : MPEG-2 Video Complete name : E:\ul\12-18_21-12-12_11.1 KTTV DT (AC3)_House.mpg Folder name : E:\ul File name : 12-18_21-12-12_11.1 KTTV DT (AC3)_House File extension : mpg Format : MPEG-2PS Format : MPEG-2 Program Format/Family : MPEG-2 Format/Extensions : vob mpeg mpg Codec : MPEG-2PS Codec : MPEG-2 Program Codec/Family : MPEG-2 Codec/Extensions : vob mpeg mpg File size : 10054503 File size : 9.59 MiB File size : 10 MiB File size : 9.6 MiB File size : 9.59 MiB File size : 9.589 MiB PlayTime : 5288 PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 00:00:05.288 Bit rate : 15211048 Bit rate : 15 Mbps Video #0 Count : 74 Count of stream of this kind : 1 Kind of stream : Video StreamKindID : 0 Codec : MPEG-2V Codec : MPEG-2 Video Codec profile : Main@High Codec settings : CustomMatrix Codec settings/Matrix : Custom PlayTime : 5288 PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 5s 288ms PlayTime : 00:00:05.288 Bit rate : 15161600 Bit rate : 15 Mbps Bit rate mode : CBR Width : 1280 Width : 1280 pixels Height : 720 Height : 720 pixels Aspect ratio : 1.778 Aspect ratio : 16/9 Frame rate : 59.940 Frame rate : 59.940 fps Standard : Composite FrameCount : 316 Chroma : 4:2:0 Interlacement : PPF Interlacement : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.274 Delay : 2000 Delay : 2s Delay : 2s Delay : 2s Delay : 00:00:02.000 It seems like DVBViewer never recorded the audio even though I could hear it during recordings! I checked my DVBViewer's settings and they seem OK. I attached a screen shot of my DirectX settings in this post. I use AC3 v1.46 for audio stuff like in previous versions. I uploaded a 9.6 MB five seconds clip of a recording: http://download.yousendit.com/F647C43E0A691601 (expires in 7 days). Quote Link to comment
antdude
Weird!! I recorded Jay Leno rerun a few minutes ago in timeshift mode and I couldn't get its audio when replaying from its TS file after stopping a timeshift recording. This was in DVBViewer. I tried playing the same TS file with K-Lite Codec Full v3.5.7 Pack's Media Player Classic I will upload the file later. I don't know why they are inconsistent! I might have to downgrade back to the old version if I can't get this resolved. Quote Link to comment

antdude
I am still NOT getting any audio from KTTV (channel 11.1) with .MPG recordings. I uploaded a new one from tonight's test: http://download.yousendit.com/261A717642DD84F4 (20.4 MB). I found another channel with no audio in .MPG recording as well. It was on KCAL (channel 9.1): http://download.yousendit.com/33AE318976C727ED (10 MB). Both channels had audios with .TS recordings. Weird! Any ideas? Both URLs will expire within 7 days. P.S. All main channels/stations have audios in TS file formats. Just need to fix the two stations with no audio in MPG format. Edited December 20, 2007 by antdude Quote Link to comment
Lars_MQ
We are working on it. It's caused by the AAC routines introduced in the last version. Until then please record as TS. Quote Link to comment

Until then please record as TS.Thanks Lars_MQ. Any ETA on when the fix will be released even if it is a prerelease? I might go back to v3.5 because of this if not fixed by 1/2/2008.
